A total of 8 teams will be participating in this tournament. Total fifty-six (56) matches will be played in the group stage of Indian Premier League 2019.

IPL Points Table 2019 distribution method:
The points table for IPL 2019 will be calculated according to the similar rules of IPL Points Table 2018.
1. Each group stage match winners will be awarded by two (2) points.
2. Each match with no result or tied then, both teams will be awarded by one (1) point.
3. Zero (0) points awarded for any match lost.
